1. Age restriction
Sunbed use is restricted to clients aged 18 and over, in accordance with UK law (Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010). Proof of age (e.g. photo ID) may be requested. We will not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use our sunbeds and reserve the right to refuse a session if age cannot be verified.
2. Health screening and contraindications
By using our sunbeds you confirm that you do not fall into any of the following categories, and that you have disclosed any condition that might affect your suitability for UV exposure:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Personal or family history of skin cancer
- Many or unusual moles
- Sun allergy or photosensitive skin condition
- Taking medication that increases sensitivity to light (e.g. antibiotics, accutane, some painkillers)
- Recent chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- Lupus or other autoimmune diseases
- Recent eye surgery or pre-existing eye conditions
If you are unsure whether any of the above applies to you, please ask a member of staff for advice before booking a session. We reserve the right to refuse a session where, in our reasonable judgement, sunbed use would be unsafe.
3. Protective equipment
Protective eyewear (goggles) is provided and must be worn for the full duration of every session. Failure to wear eye protection is done entirely at the client's own risk.
4. Prepaid packages and expiry
Prepaid sunbed minutes purchased as part of a package are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused minutes remaining after this period will expire automatically and cannot be refunded, extended, exchanged for cash, or reinstated.
It is the client's responsibility to use their prepaid minutes within the validity period. We recommend keeping track of your balance and expiry date; staff can confirm your remaining balance on request.
5. Payments and transferability
Prepaid packages and individual sessions are non-transferable between clients and non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law. Walk-in sessions are charged at the rate displayed in salon at the time of your visit.
6. Session guidance and skin type
Recommended session times vary according to Fitzpatrick skin type and individual tolerance. Staff guidance on session length is provided for general information only; clients remain responsible for following a "start low, go slow" approach and for monitoring their own skin's reaction.
7. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a sunbed session at our discretion, including where a client appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, has not disclosed a relevant contraindication, or where continuing the session could pose a risk to health and safety.
8. Liability
Sunbed use involves exposure to UV radiation, which carries inherent risks including skin burning, premature ageing, and increased risk of skin cancer with overuse. By using our sunbeds, you accept these risks and acknowledge that you have been given the opportunity to ask staff for guidance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in regulation or our pricing structure. The current version in force is the one published on this page at the time of your purchase or session.
